Ah, Spring. Fresh flowers, birds singing, actually leaving the house and going outside (because it’s not freezing cold).. what’s not to love?! I love the turn of seasons that Spring brings, and I love another tradition about this time of year- Spring Cleaning! Not only is it a great way to get organized- it’s a great way to detox. Something I learned from Minimalism expert Olivia Youngs is that all that ‘stuff’ and ‘clutter’ does actually impact your mental health and piece. I’m sure you’ve felt it too- doesn’t a productive Sunday of actually getting all your laundry done actually help? I love organizing and reorganizing all my ‘stuff,’ but one type of Spring Cleaning I hadn’t done yet is on the digital side. That’s right—this year I took Spring Cleaning to my very sacred Gmail inbox. So I know for many, Unroll.me is old news, but if you haven’t gotten around to trying it, there’s no better time than now! I decided to do a little digital detox because I’m one of those crazy ones who always has 3,000 unread emails.. I wish that was an exaggeration! Unroll.me is an online FREE service where you can see a list of all your subscriptions- yes, like those retail websites you signed up for a one-time 15% coupon, and unsubscribe easily from anything you’re not interested in cluttering your inbox anymore. This way, unsubscribing from those emails is actually manageable and satisfying rather than overwhelming and scary! Here’s how my experience with Unroll.me went- I first clicked “Get Started” and connected the service to my Gmail account. Unroll.me provided me a look at all my subscriptions at the glance- everything from airlines, to banks, to that one thing I forgot I even signed up for that one time. Another cool service Unroll.me offers is a rollup, where you can choose your favorite websites to stay subscribed to but receive all the updates in one single daily digest versus a ton of emails crowding up your inbox. And, you can keep track of all your subscriptions and those you’ve unsubscribed from in your account. The whole service is very visually organized, and the account easily shows you when you have new subscriptions to be evaluated as well. Unroll.me is safe, it's easy to use, and it's free. Overall I absolutely love this service, and am definitely going to incorporate it into my routine digital detox routine! What do you love about Spring? Are you a Spring Cleaner? Will you be trying Unroll.me? Let me know in the comments below! XO Sameena
